In what can be called the most anticipated match of the 2007-2008 season, Pike defeats Kappa Sigma in the 3rd game of a double-elimination bowling tournament, thereby finishing the school-year and season with the most sports points of any IFC Fraternity.
Kappa Sigma, having lost to Pike once in the Semi-Finals, returned to Lane 1 at Irvine Lanes to face the henceforth undefeated Pike Bowling Team. Having to win two matches to claim victory, Pike & Kappa Sigma tied their first game. Kappa Sigma came back with a victory in the second match, needing a 2nd victory to win, the last game was watched with anticipation and excitement.
Once the last pin hit the hardwood, it was clear the winner would not be easily determined, with individual match-ups resulting in a tie, the winner would be determined by total point count of both teams. The silence was deafening as the points were being tallied up, but the silence would soon be broken...
Congratulations to the Pike Bowling Team for coming away with 1st place in the IFC Bowling tournament, and thereby resulting in a first place winner in overall IFC Athletics!
Summertime for most is a time to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather that Southern California has to offer. For Pike, it is about having fun and preparing for the coming year. This holds true for intramural sports as well. The men of Pike have spent the summer preparing to defend their BACK TO BACK Flag Football Championships with practices several times a week. Along with returning starters, the brothers are working in new faces, in order to fully prepare the entire team for the competitiveness of the IFC Flag Football league.

Other than football, Pike is hard at work in all Fall sports, including preparing for Volleyball, whose team last year finished in second place, Ultimate Frisbee, third place last year, and Tennis. Pi Kappa Alpha plans on dominating each and every time they step on the athletic field, and both hard work and practice will make it happen.
Pi Kappa Alpha finished the school year strong with successful performances on the athletic fields. The Bowling team, consisting of brothers George O'Keefe, Jaz Singh, Danny Longmire, and Chris Gutierrez successfully defended their title and took home Pike's second straight championship. The Sports Trivia team, consisting of brothers John Ernenputsch, Brandon Grant, Ryan Driscoll, Russell Curry and George O'Keefe also tasted victory with a closely contested championship match that came down to a tiebreaker question. The Softball team also had a successful season with a third place finish in the All University Tournament.

The story of the quarter though, was the Pike Floor Hockey team. Prior to this year Pike had never excelled in Floor Hockey, but against all expectations, the team made it to the championship game after narrowly making it into the playoffs. After a well played Spring quarter the athletes of Pi Kappa Alpha are eagerly anticipating the coming intramural season.

The Pikes ended off the 2005-2006 intramural sports season in style with a Softball championship. On June 7th the men of Pi Kappa Alpha defeated SAE by one run in a thrilling game that came down to the final at bat. In the bottom of the 7th inning SAE was down a single run and was threatening with bases loaded and one out. With a fly ball to make it two outs, the game came down to the final at bat. In most dramatic fashion the game ended on a sharp ground ball up the middle. Shortstop Kyle Sakai made the grab and flipped the ball to second baseman Chris Gutierrez to end the game.
All the hard work had paid off, the men of Pi Kappa Alpha became the champions of IFC softball. The intramural season was a success as Pike became the only fraternity to win a major sport in all three quarters (IFC Football in the fall, ALl-U Soccer in the Winter).
